Girls & Women in Motion (GWIM) is excited to announce that our Built to Play Girl’s Only Soccer Program is back for Year 2 in 2023! We are now recruiting Site Leads, Coaches, and Coaches in Training (Coaching Team) to support the delivery of our program. The Coaching Team will support us in delivering our 8-10 week developmental soccer program in 3-4 different sites (Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, Toronto City Sports Centre, and 1 more unconfirmed site), 4 days of the week, across Scarborough and East York for up to 160 girl participants (~40 per site)! SITE LEAD DESCRIPTION
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee a team of 4-5 Soccer Coaches to deliver weekly programming
- Responsible for the transportation, collection and inventory of program equipment and materials
- Submit weekly session reports to a designated GWIM team member
- Support Soccer Coaches to create a welcoming environment for participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members
- Support Soccer Coaches to uphold all program rules and policies for the safety and enjoyment of participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members
- Coordinate and lead pre-shift coach meetings before weekly sessions
- Conduct mid-season and end of season evaluations on coaches performance and progress to support their growth and overall program quality
- Participate in coach NCCP training and Girl-Centered Design training
- Required to work consistent shifts throughout each session
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the GWIM staff members
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to be a team player and ambassador of GWIM Mission and Values
- Prior experience as a coach and/or working with youth is required
- Must be able to communicate clearly with GWIM staff members, coaches and community members
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Be able to work on your feet for an extended period of time
- Must be able to work weekends
- Ontario G-level license driver with reliable access to a car
- Passionate about working with kids
- Must be age 21+
- Women-identified
COMPENSATION
Site Leads will be compensated with a total honorarium of $600. In addition to covering the cost of NCCP training, GWIM will provide an additional honorarium for travel (upwards of $200) to all Site Leads. View the full Site Lead description by clicking here.
COACH DESCRIPTION

- Create a welcoming environment for participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members
- Explain and uphold all program rules and policies for the safety and enjoyment of participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members
- Develop and deliver weekly program plans
- Responsible for set up, clean up, and maintaining a field
- Attend pre-shift meetings before weekly sessions
- Participate in coach NCCP training and Girl-Centered Design training
- Required to work consistent shifts throughout each session. Coaches will be provided with an attendance policy and processes, if successful in their application
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Site Lead
- OPTIONAL: Select Coaches will have the opportunity to mentor a Coach in Training for the 2023 program. If you are interested in being a mentor, please ensure to express your interest on your application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to be a team player and ambassador of GWIM Mission and Values
- Prior experience working with youth
- Must be able to communicate clearly with Site Lead, coaches and community members
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds

- Communicate regularly with mentor Coach
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Be able to work on your feet for an extended period of time
- Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends
- Love working with kids
- Must be age 15 – 17
- Women-identified
COMPENSATION:
