Girls & Women in Motion (GWIM) is excited to announce that we are now recruiting Coaches and Site Leads for our 2022 Built to Play Program! Site Leads and Coaches will support us in delivering our 8-10 week developmental soccer program in 3 different sites (Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, Toronto City Sports Centre, and Terraview Park), 4 days of the week, across Scarborough and East York for up to 120 girl participants (30 per site)! COACH DESCRIPTION

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a welcoming environment for participants, coaches, parents, guardians and
    community members
  • Explain and uphold all program rules and policies for the safety and enjoyment of
    participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members
  • Develop and deliver weekly program plans
  • Responsible for set up, clean up, and maintaining a field
  • Attend pre-shift meetings before weekly sessions
  • Participate in coach NCCP training and Girl-Centered Design training
  • Required to work consistent shifts throughout each session
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Site Lead

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness to be a team player and ambassador of GWIM Mission and Values 
  • Prior experience as a coach not required
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with Site Lead, coaches and community members
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
  • Be able to work on your feet for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Love working with kids
  • Must be age 15+
  • Women-identified

HOURS & COMPENSATION:

Soccer Coaches will be compensated with a total honorarium of $400 for the hours outlined in the table. This honorarium is subject to adjustment for Year 2 pending changes to the hours and expectations of Soccer Coaches. In addition to covering the cost of NCCP training, GWIM will provide reimbursement for travel (upwards of $100 through a gas gift card or Presto Card) to all Soccer Coaches. View the full Coach description by clicking here.

SITE LEAD DESCRIPTION

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee a team of 4-5 Soccer Coaches to deliver weekly programming 
  • Responsible for the transportation, collection and inventory of program equipment and materials
  • Submit weekly session reports to a designated GWIM staff member 
  • Support Soccer Coaches to create a welcoming environment for participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members  
  • Support Soccer Coaches to uphold all program rules and policies for the safety and enjoyment of participants, coaches, parents, guardians and community members 
  • Coordinate and lead pre-shift coach meetings before weekly sessions
  • Provide feedback to Soccer Coaches on program execution
  • Participate in coach NCCP training and Girl-Centered Design training 
  • Required to work consistent shifts throughout each session
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the GWIM staff members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness to be a team player and ambassador of GWIM Mission and Values 
  • Prior experience as a coach is required
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with GWIM staff members, coaches and community members

  • Ontario G-level licenced driver with reliable access to a car
  • Love working with kids
  • Must be age 18+
  • Women-identified

Our ideal candidates are women-identified individuals, age 15 + (18+ for Site Leads, 15+ for Coaches), with a passionate for getting girls active through movement.
